Level 6 General English 2 Course

Throughout this ongoing program, students will have two weekly sessions with the teacher to cover the following topics:
• Reading: Big Question, text, and reading strategies and comprehension skills.
• New vocabulary words: 10-14 new words/unit.
• Word Study: compound words – Nouns & Verbs – Words in Alphabetical Order
• Grammar: tenses – subject & object pronouns – possessive pronoun – adverbs of time – Modal auxiliary verbs – comparative & superlative adjectives
• listening: Students listen and speak about various topics, for example; animals body parts, expressing sympathy, life then and now, and describing food and ingredients. Moreover, students apply different listening strategies, for example; listening for specific information.
• Writing: Students write about different topics, for example; thing that can change state, something people did long ago, but they don’t do now. Moreover, students learn writing skills, for example; contractions.
• Review: each lesson reviews the last to ensure the students remember the material.
Assessments will be taken by the end of every lesson, unit and at the end of the course.
A Feedback report and a certificate will be sent to parents/guardians after unit and end of course assessments so parents can be involved with the student’s progress.
Who is this course for? This course is tailored to meet the developmental needs and learning abilities of children aged 8-9.
Course format: Using slides, videos and online games is a way to guarantee engagement and enjoyment while learning a new language!
