Throughout this ongoing program, students will have two weekly sessions with the teacher to cover the following topics: • New vocabulary words: 20-30 new words/unit. • Grammar: sentences structures – Different types of sentences – Declarative (Make a statement) – Interrogative (Ask a question) using the vocabulary words learnt at the session. • Phonics: each class centers on specific sounds or letters that facilitate reading and pronunciation skills, additionally to revising previously learnt letters. • Reading: Students read stories and answer comprehension questions. • Skills and Culture: Students work on new skills and learn about different cultures. • Review: each lesson reviews the last to ensure the students remember the material. In addition to lesson six in each unit that recaps all the concepts learnt through-out the unit. Assessments will be taken by the end of every lesson, unit and at the end of the course. A Feedback report and a certificate will be sent to parents/guardians after unit and end of course assessments so parents can be involved with the student’s progress. Who is this course for? This course is tailored to meet the developmental needs and learning abilities of children aged 5-6. It focuses on building upon the foundation established in Shine Course, introducing more complex concepts and skills. Course format: Using slides, videos and online games is a way to guarantee engagement and enjoyment while learning a new language!
